In order to ensure ethical recruitment and facilitate an accelerated recruitment process, the governing body regulating offshore employment of Sri Lankan citizens – The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE), established by The Parliament of Sri Lanka by Act No 21 of 1985, has stipulated strict rules, regulations and procedures to be adopted when engaging Sri Lankan citizens for overseas employment.

As stipulated by the SLBFE, the overseas employer is required to prepare a “Job Order” – A set of documents as described below and obtain the attestation from the relevant authorities in the respective country to recruit candidates from Sri Lanka.

As licenced recruitment agents, we are required to submit the duly attested “Job – Order” to the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) for the krst approval to facilitate engagement in manpower recruitment for overseas deployment.

1. Letter of Demand

A letter typed and printed on your company letterhead indicating all terms and conditions of employment, including the remuneration offered to the employee.

2. Both Party Agreements

An agreement of service between the employer (Foreign Principal/ Client) and the recruitment agency (Agent) that includes the general terms and conditions of the recruitment.

3. Special Power of Attorney

The employer’s (Foreign Principal/ Client) authority to advertise, call for applications, test, conduct interviews and engage in completing required formalities on behalf of the employer pertaining to the relevant manpower recruitment.

3. Letter of Guarantee

A list of alternative subsidiaries the employer may choose to issue Visas and Contracts of Employment.

4. Contract of Employment

A sample of an Employment Contract that would be issued to the selected candidates under the “Job – Order.”  (Sample formats of the above documents are available on request)
